JO CHRISTIE, Principal
Jo is a Fellow of the Ballet Faculty of the International Dance Teachers Association.  She holds a Licentiate qualification for the Freestyle branch and an Associate qualification for the Tap, Modern Jazz and Theatre Craft branches as well as a Gymnastic Dance Diploma and Level 3 Pilates .
Jo started dancing at the age of 4, intending to follow in her parents footsteps in the Ballroom branch but at the age of 10 was sent to ballet school by her Primary School teacher.  For 12 years she studied at the Rose Marriott School of Dancing in Sheffield, at the age of 13 was a resident dancer on ITV's Junior Showtime and a member of Douggie Squire's New Generation, at 15 was a Grand Finalist for the Butlins Talent Competition held at the London Palladium and at 19 worked in Floor Shows and Cabarets in London and the South East as a Contortionist and Cabaret Dancer before joining a cruise ship.  Homesickness set in though and Jo returned to Sheffield to do her teacher training at the Constance Grant Dance Centre with Judith Silvester, whilst working at Midland Bank to pay the bills.  A relocation with the bank to London saw Jo furthering her dance training with Yvonne Gout and the Alberta School of Dance and Drama whilst working for several dance schools as a free lance teacher until she opened her own school in 1991.
Jo is married to Andy, she has a step daughter Alison married to James, (they have given her 2 granddaughters "Olivia Grace" and "Amelie Alice") and a daughter Sarah married to Jonathan.

Stephanie studied dance at The Brit School for 4 years then  at The Centre of Performing Arts obtaining a Dance and Musical Theatre Diploma and ISTD teacher qualifications.
A passionate Street Dance Trainer, Stephanie loves all forms of dance and was an Irish Dance World Champion.
Stephanie has first hand experience in the professional dance world performing in shows, productions, pantomimes, events and various music videos such as Kylie Minogue, Examples,  and performed at V Festival with various artists.
Miss Steph is now back after her stint in the US and Cayman Islands with hairspray the musical, and managed to also fit in some more teaching qualifications and now has IDTA Associate Modern, Tap and Freestyle to add to her ISTD qualifications as well as her Zumba Fitness Certificate.

Fellow and examiner of the IDTA, recently Alli has been Resident Director of the BBCs "Walking With Dinosaurs" World Tour, Associate Director for the West End production of Dirty Dancing and is now Associate Director for the Jersey Boys Tour.  Originally trained at the Pattisons Theatre School in Coventry where she has also taught for many years, Alli was also Principal of Chaplin Theatre Arts in Milton Keynes and has choreographed several Pantomimes and shows for the BBC including CBeebies and Bob the Builder.
Any student over the age of 13 can apply to join the student teacher scheme but they must attend at least 1 ballet class per week.  Applications should be made in writing to the Principal who will then arrange an interview with the student and their parents.
